ARLINGTON, TX — A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded Monday afternoon inside the Salon and Spa Galleria on South Cooper Street, where 37-year-old entrepreneur and Credit Champs owner Todd Austin was fatally shot in what police are investigating as a murder-suicide.
The Arlington Police Department confirmed that officers were dispatched to Suite #115 of the salon shortly after receiving 911 calls about a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered Austin unresponsive with a gunshot wound. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Also found inside was the body of T’Mone Michelle Williams, who authorities say died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The initial investigation indicates that Williams entered the salon, approached Austin—who was there receiving a haircut—and opened fire, taking his life before turning the gun on herself.
Witnesses described the horrifying moment as a scene of chaos and disbelief. “There was no argument, no warning,” one salon worker shared. “It all happened so fast. We’re all traumatized.”
Todd Austin was widely known in the community as a driven businessman who founded Credit Champs to help others rebuild their financial futures. Friends and clients alike are mourning the loss of a man described as passionate, generous, and full of life. “Todd had a gift,” one friend said. “He uplifted people, gave second chances, and believed in everyone he met.”
Details surrounding the nature of the relationship between Austin and Williams remain under investigation, though police believe the two knew each other personally.
As the Arlington community reels from this shocking loss, grief counselors are being made available to witnesses and salon employees. A candlelight vigil in memory of Todd Austin is being planned later this week.
This tragedy leaves behind a heartbroken family, a grieving community, and a legacy cut painfully short.
