FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. — A quiet Thursday afternoon turned tragic in Fresno County as the community mourns the sudden and devastating loss of Guillermina Medina, a 60-year-old Clovis resident whose life was cut short in a violent traffic collision.
The Fresno County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Medina died following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Grantland and Olive Avenues on July 17. According to the California Highway Patrol, Medina was driving southbound on Grantland when she failed to stop at a posted stop sign. Her vehicle was struck on the driver’s side by a Jeep Wrangler traveling eastbound on Olive Avenue.
Emergency crews arrived promptly, and Medina was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno. Despite the efforts of medical staff, she succumbed to her injuries. The condition of the other driver has not been released.
