PUEBLO, Colo. — A relaxing afternoon at Lake Pueblo State Park turned to heartbreak on Saturday, July 18, when a 43-year-old woman tragically lost her life in a boating accident. Authorities have confirmed the fatal incident occurred around 4 p.m. near the North Shore at Denver Cove, involving a powered watercraft and contact with the engine propeller.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) responded quickly to the scene, where emergency crews transported the victim to the North Shore Marina. Pueblo West Firefighters made heroic attempts to resuscitate the woman, but tragically, despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead by the Pueblo County Coroner shortly after 5 p.m.
The victim’s identity has not yet been publicly disclosed, as officials await family notification. Local authorities, alongside CPW officials, have initiated a full investigation to determine the specific details of the accident. At this stage, it is being classified as a tragic boating accident, and no arrests have been made.
