A 68-year-old Alabama man, Earnest Christion Jr., was fatally stabbed on New Year’s Eve, and his family is mourning the loss of a devoted family man and military veteran.
Christion was found unresponsive with a stab wound at a Birmingham home on December 31. He was transported to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.
A homicide investigation was launched, and authorities offered a cash reward for tips. After receiving community tips, detectives secured arrest warrants for two suspects: 60-year-old Zingy Gamble and her 40-year-old son, La Verne Gamble.
Zingy Gamble, who was dating Christion, allegedly stabbed him over a dispute about money. Both suspects are in custody at the Jefferson County Jail.
Christion’s family remembered him as a “beacon of joy and love” with a contagious sense of humor. He was a devoted family man and proud father who cherished every moment with his loved ones.
