Texas authorities made a surprising discovery when they pulled over a driver, Luis Manuel Hernandez Bonilla, for defective brakes. It turned out that Bonilla was a suspected MS-13 gang member wanted for murder in El Salvador. He was arrested by Lakeway Police officers during a routine patrol operation.
Bonilla was driving with defective brake lamps when he was stopped, and a subsequent check revealed his connection to the MS-13 gang and the outstanding murder charge in El Salvador. He was taken into custody without incident and handed over to federal immigration authorities. Bonilla is currently being held in ICE custody in Kentucky.
