Strathroy, ON — A wave of grief has swept through the Strathroy-Caradoc community following the tragic death of 27-year-old Endy Moniz, a devoted father, cherished friend, and well-known local worker, who was the victim in a fatal stabbing on Friday evening.
Police were called to Ashby Crescent shortly before 5 p.m. on June 27 for what was initially reported as a medical emergency. Upon arrival, officers discovered Endy outside a residence suffering from multiple stab wounds. Despite immediate efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Strathroy-Caradoc police have since arrested and charged 27-year-old Joel Peralta Del Valle, also of Strathroy, with first-degree murder. He remains in custody. Authorities have assured the public there is no ongoing threat, but the investigation is active and ongoing.
The loss of Endy Moniz has left the community stunned and heartbroken. Known for his tireless work ethic, bright smile, and unwavering devotion to his family—especially to his young sons, Rylyn and Lincoln—Endy touched the lives of many. He juggled two jobs with determination, all while saving up to buy his first home, a dream that tragically will now go unfulfilled.
“Endy was more than just a lawncare worker to us—he was a friend, a part of our lives,” one longtime client shared tearfully. “He loved his family more than anything. Every conversation came back to his boys or his parents. He had such pride in them.”
Those who knew Endy from childhood remember him as a sweet and shy boy who grew into a strong, cheerful, and dependable man. Whether working in his business, helping a neighbor, or simply sharing a laugh, Endy radiated positivity and reliability. His absence will be deeply felt across every corner of the town.
In the wake of this senseless and sudden tragedy, a fundraiser has been launched to support the future of Endy’s two sons—an effort to provide them with the security and care their father worked so hard to build. Community members are rallying behind the boys, hoping to carry forward the love, strength, and devotion Endy showed them every single day.
Anyone with information related to the ongoing investigation is urged to contact local authorities.
As Strathroy mourns, one thing is clear: Endy Moniz was deeply loved, and his memory will live on through his children and the many lives he touched. This heartbreaking loss will not be forgotten.
Rest in peace, Endy. Your light lives on in Rylyn and Lincoln.
