Victoria, TX-The Victoria College community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Francisca “Frankie” Zepeda, who passed away on Sunday following a courageous battle with cancer. She was known not only for her professional excellence but for the profound kindness, compassion, and strength she brought to every part of her life.
Frankie served as the Executive Administrative Assistant for Instruction and Student Services, a role in which she touched countless lives—always quietly, humbly, and with extraordinary heart. Her presence at Victoria College was a constant source of calm, support, and warmth to faculty, staff, and students alike.
“Frankie wasn’t just a colleague—she was family,” one coworker shared. “She made every person feel valued and loved. Her loss is immeasurable.”
Known for her radiant smile and gentle spirit, Frankie was often described as the glue that held the team together. Her work behind the scenes was essential to the smooth operation of her department, but it was her relationships that truly defined her impact. She remembered birthdays, checked in on people during hard times, and gave generously of her time and care—even while fighting her own private battle with illness.
Despite the challenges she faced, Frankie never lost her grace. Her strength in the face of adversity was as inspiring as her kindness. She continued to support her colleagues and students with quiet determination, even during her most difficult days.
Outside of work, Frankie was a devoted daughter, sister, friend, and mentor. Her deep faith, unwavering love for her family, and her ability to find joy in small things made her a treasured presence in every life she touched. Her warmth extended far beyond her job title.
As Victoria College mourns this tremendous loss, it also honors the legacy Frankie leaves behind—a legacy of kindness, quiet leadership, and deep humanity.
