Family Mourns Loss of “Precious” Son and Brother After Half Marathon Tragedy
The family of Aaron Johnston, a 24-year-old man from Enniskillen, Northern Ireland, has paid a heartfelt tribute to their loved one after his sudden death following a half marathon in Glasgow.
Aaron had completed the run around Glasgow Green on Sunday before becoming ill, prompting emergency services to rush to the scene. Despite efforts to save him, Aaron was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
In a statement, the family expressed their devastation, saying: “We are completely heartbroken… Words cannot describe what we are going through now.”
Police Scotland confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding Aaron’s death, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
A funeral notice announced that donations can be made to Chest, Heart and Stroke NI in Aaron’s memory.
The community has come together to offer condolences and support to Aaron’s family during this difficult time.
