A former senior UK Special Forces officer has made a shocking accusation that the SAS had a “golden pass” to get away with murder during their operations in Afghanistan ¹ ². This claim was made public by the Afghanistan Inquiry, which has been investigating alleged war crimes committed by the SAS between 2010 and 2013.
The officer, who previously served as operations chief of staff for the Special Boat Service (SBS), expressed concerns back in 2011 that the SAS was carrying out executions and covering them up. He described the SAS’s actions as “regular bedfellows” with murder and stated that their official reports were “quite incredible”
Another senior SBS officer who gave evidence to the inquiry shared similar concerns, stating that the SAS was driven by “kill counts” and may have committed murders during some operations ¹.
The inquiry has also revealed that support staff in Afghanistan were skeptical about the SAS’s accounts of their operations, but instead of taking concerns seriously, a reprimand was issued to ensure staff officers supported the SAS .
These allegations are part of a larger investigation into the SAS’s actions in Afghanistan, which has been marked by accusations of war crimes and cover-ups. The inquiry’s findings have sparked widespread outrage and calls for accountability
