Lee Earl Mason passed away peacefully at home on May 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife Christine, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 29, 1946, Lee grew up in Eureka, California, and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, earning a Purple Heart.
After his military service, Lee worked at the Samoa pulp mill for over 30 years and built a life with his first wife Kathleen, with whom he had two daughters, Angela and Dana. Later, he married Christine in 1993, and they shared many adventures together.
Lee loved the outdoors and enjoyed activities like camping, hunting, and traveling in his beloved RV, “Titanic.” In his later years, he found joy in playing computer games, watching war movies, and cuddling with his cats.
Lee is survived by his wife Christine, daughters Angela and Dana, step-daughter Jennifer, and five grandchildren. His family is grateful for the care and support provided by the VA staff and hospice team during his final days.
In lieu of a memorial service, Lee’s family asks that you raise a glass in his memory and cherish the good times you shared with him.
