Three young men, aged 15 to 20, were shot dead at a hair salon in Uppsala, Sweden, ahead of the Walpurgis festival celebrations. The victims were shot in the head while sitting in barber chairs.
A 16-year-old boy was initially arrested but later released due to lack of evidence. Six people, aged under 18 to 45, have now been arrested in connection with the case, with one suspected of carrying out the killings.
The police are investigating possible links to gang crime, amid concerns over Sweden’s growing gun violence problem, particularly among young people. The government has proposed new laws to tackle gang crime and tighten gun laws.
